The Grotesque Buffoon:
This course will introduce a tragic-comic style of acting
-The buffoon is characterized on the stage as having a grotesque, distorted body, wearing specific costumes, and using specific props (this provides an example of the body as a mask). With the aid of the physical archetypes and the poetic wealth of their imagination, the students will design their personal buffoon, which will enact a tragic-comic situation. This style will provide a basis for the creation of the dramatic clown.
