Specialization Studies
This is a one-year study track for actors, dancers, and other professional performing artists, which will endow the participants with the tools for original creations using the techniques of physical theatre. Classes will be held every week on Fridays from 10 A.M. to 3 P.M. Once a month, the students will be required to present a group exercise based on independent work aimed at developing imagination and thought as a creative artists. Toward the end of the academic year, the students, with the supervision of the class facilitators, will prepare a final project.

Physical Preparation:
-Basic acrobatics and Laban methods
-Exercising the body in accordance with Alexander techniques
-Additional tools for a wide utilization of the total architecture of the body in relationship to its movement in space

The Storyteller in the Physical Theatre:
-Tools for creating action theatre in an empty space
-Emphasis on the actor as a performer who is responsible for the creation of the dramatic situation: the actor, the storyteller, all of the characters, the place, the atmosphere, the sounds, and the images
-Basics of white-faced pantomime and creative writing
-Relationship between text-movement-space

Silent, Wordless Theatre with Music:
-The creation of theatrical situations, which are not pantomime, yet, which have no words
-Music as a partner for acting in the search for a new method of expression: as an influence, as setting the beat, as arousing associations and as telling a story
Acting With Half Masks (Commedia Del Arte and other theatrical forms)
-Discovering the power that the mask bestows on the actor, empowering him or her with a freedom to engage in a dialogue with the world of creatures encompassed within the mask, and to establish a different way of communicating with an audience
-Principles of acting the human comedy based on comic and dramatic situations
-Masks that integrate the spoken language
-Construction of situations that integrate classical texts such as Moliere and Chanoch Levine

The Dramatic Clown: From Circus to Theatre:
This is a tragic-comic style, which enables the actor to discover his or her inner clown. It enables the actor to be foolish, na?ve, poetic, and develop virtuosity. All of this emanates from the joy and passion of being on the stage.
